The European Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska answered the European Tourism Manifesto supporting organisations’ Open Letter on tourism addressed to the European Commission. In her response, Commissioner Bieńkowska stated that the European Commission is committed to continuing fostering the competitiveness of the EU tourism businesses, particularly SMEs. She underlined that the European Commission’s actions implemented in the framework of the 2010 Communication on Tourism and the 2014 Communication on Coastal and Maritime Tourism are still considered valid for addressing the challenges and opportunities in the sector.
